Losers Like Us is a project that was started in November of 2010. It originated in a discussion between four friends in which they all realized that the extremely geeky conversations they had would be suitable for a podcast. They sat down and recorded their first episode on November 12th, and had a simple Wordpress installation to maintain podcast posts.
Over time, the project began to expand drastically. The site began to pump out articles focusing on different aspects of geek culture. It quickly became apparent that the use case of Wordpress as a long-term article platform were simply not enough for a growing community, so Sean Tilley sat down and built a new site using the popular Drupal content management system.
To date, Losers Like Us does all of the following:
- Podcasting
- Articles
- Blogging
- Reviews (games, movies, and tech)
- Forums
- Messaging
- Videos
- Galleries
And that's only the tip of the iceberg. There are many other features and fixes in development. Regardless, Losers Like Us is focused as a community website, and continues to grow with semi-daily posts. It is the first project developed entirely under DeadSuperHero, Unc.
As a bonus, all media is offered under MP3 and OGG for podcast episodes, and MP4 and OGG Theora for videos.
